NFL:
Die Nichtnominierung für die NFLE werte ich als gutes Zeichen für Constantin Ritzmann bei den Buffalo Bills. Die Coaches scheinen zu wissen, was sie an ihm haben. Auch wenn er vermutlich nach wie vor nicht an Schobel, Kelsay und Denney 'vorbeikommt', sehe ich ihn als Nr. 4 mit einem Platz im endgültigen Roster. Damit er sich nicht auf die faule Haut legen kann wurde mit Gause zwar noch ein DE verpflichtet (FA), ich sehe Ritzmann aber dennoch bei einigen regulären Spielen der Bills auf dem Platz stehen.
Schwieriger wird es meiner Meinung nach für Christian Mohr bei den Seattle Seahawks. Er wird im Moment als Nr. 4 auf der RDE-Position geführt ... da die Hawks vermutlich die 3 und die 4 cutten werden, wirds schwer. Ich sehe das Aus nach der Preseason.
Im Programm für den National-Nachwuchs aus der NFLE sind mit Richard Yancy (San Diego), Peter Heyer (Kansas City) und Claudius Osei (Tampa Bay) gleich drei Deutsche. Alle drei werden in der Preseason ein wenig NFL-Luft schnuppern dürfen und im Rest der Siason am Camp der Teams teilnehmen, aber nicht in den aktiven Kader rücken ...
College:
Bastian Schober (OL/SO, ehemals Franken Knights) steht wieder bei den Iowa State Cyclones(I-A, Big 12 North) im Kader. Seine Chancen auch Spielzeit zu bekommen, kann ich nur schwer einschätzen ...
Hubi Schulze Zumkley (PK/JR, ehemals SV Herbern) U-N-L-V Rebels (I-A, Mountain West) wird nicht an Sergio Aguayo (PK/SO) vorbeikommen. So bleibt es bei den Einsätzen bei den Kickoffs und mit viel Glück mal ein PAT oder Fieldgoalversuch.
Dagegen dürfte Ben Ishola (DE/SR, ehemals Berlin Adler) seinen Starterplatz bei den Indiana Hoosiers (I-A, Big Ten) sicher haben. Diese Einschätzung teilt übrigens auch die Big Ten Vorschau von Lindy`s.
Da Malik Cin (OL/JR, ehemals Wiesbaden Phantoms) bei den Utah State Aggies (I-A, WAC) bereits in der letzten Saison als Starter vorgesehen war und verletungsbedingt nur bei 3 Spielen auflief, dürfte er in der kommenden Saison als Center gute Chancen haben.
Keine Info finde ich zu folgenden Spielern, die zumindest in der letzten Saison noch am College waren:

Ritzmann Rules
Also, Constatin Ritzmann hat gestern Nacht eine mehr als gute Figur gemacht.
Hatte im Preseason Game der Bills gegen die Colts 3 Tackles, 2 Sacks und einen Forced Fumble.

Constantin Ritzmann hat gespielt und mit 3 Tackles (drittbester seines Teams) und zwei Sacks (mehr hat kein anderer bei dem Spiel ...) seine 'Marke' hinterlassen. Ein Sack hat auch gleich zu nem Fumble geführt. Da er erst im 3. Q. erstmalig genannt wird, geh ich mal davon aus, daß er die zweite Hälfte gespielt hat.
Von den anderen gibt es eigenlich nix zu berichten (einige stehen zwar in der Statistik als eingesetzt, wie man an C. Mohr sieht, ist diese Info wohl nicht ganz so zuverlässig ...)

Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay and Ryan Denney will be the Bills' top three defensive ends this season. That much we know.
After that? It's anybody's guess.
The two players at the forefront in the battle for the fourth defensive end position have taken similar paths to get to the NFL. Constantin Ritzmann made the Bills roster as an undrafted free agent last season and George Gause is trying to do the same this year.
Gause, a physical specimen from South Carolina at 6-foot-4, 275 pounds, has impressed the coaching staff enough at camp thus far to be practicing with the second team. He currently is the No. 2 defensive end on the right side behind starter Aaron Schobel.
"I'm going to try and stay there as long as I can," Gause said after Monday night's practice at St. John Fisher.
Gause isn't blessed with an incredible array of pass rushing skills but is a decent pass rusher and is very stout against the run.
"I'm good at standing and holding my ground, I don't get pushed around too much," Gause said when asked what he felt his best qualities were on the field. "I think I'm just a good strong end to play the run and add a little bit to the pass rush, but I can get better in both of those [areas]."
Gause found his way onto the stat sheet in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts with a sack on quarterback Jim Sorgi near the end of the first half, effectively ending any chance at a last-second field goal.
But Gause wasn't the only end to find his way into the backfield Saturday night. Ritzmann tallied two sacks and a forced fumble against the Colts.
"I felt pretty good with the opportunities I got in the second half, I got a couple of sacks," Ritzmann said. "It was great to be out there and just improve. Last preseason I had only one sack in four games. I feel like I can improve on those numbers this year."
After surprising many by beating out veterans Keith McKenzie and Jason Gildon last season, Ritzmann spent the entire season on injured reserve after injuring his foot. For that reason, Ritzmann isn't taking anything for granted this year.
"I don't see myself having any better chance than last year," he said. "I just have to fight for it. There are new young guys here that do really well. It's the NFL, they're going to bring in good players every year. You can never rest."
Ritzmann is more of a natural pass rusher than Gause but admittedly is not as well-rounded of a player.
"I have to work at being a complete football player," Ritzmann said. "Everybody knows I can rush the passer okay. I need to keep improving to be a complete football player, play the run, play over the tight end, all of those kind of things."
Bills head coach Mike Mularkey agreed.
"His strength is as a rusher and where he has had to work is against the point of attack and the tight end over him and the run game, holding up [against it]," Mularkey said. "He's doing it, but it's something he still has to work on."
It's not even a given that one of the two will make the opening day roster with the Bills. After Ritzmann went down last year, the team kept only three ends (Schobel, Kelsay and Denney). Linebacker Jeff Posey can line up as an end in obvious passing situations, as he did last season.
So who's the favorite to be the fourth defensive end on the team - if Mularkey keeps four ends? Gause appears to have the edge right now based on playing time at practice. But Ritzmann is still in the mix as well.
Even the players don't know who will be the last one standing.
"Who that's going to be? The coaches will have to tell you," Ritzmann said. "I don't know that. All I can do is come out here and practice and make the decision really hard for them."

seit wann ist er drüben? bekommt er spielzeit etc.?
in hamburg haben wir ihm geraten, mehr gemüse zu essen (weil er hat jeden tag kiloweise fleisch gegessen). dann hat er sich am nächsten tag ne tiefkühlpizza gemacht und gesagt: "da ist doch paprika drauf...."
