Just guessing based on geography, never sure how the association will break things down. I don’t really know the strengths and weaknesses of the teams in this league yet, so hard for me to say who would have the advantage in this scenario. I’d like to see the top two from each division have a playoff (1a vs 2b and 1b vs 2a) with the winner playing for a championship on a neutral field. The only other solution would be 1 group and play each other twice, but 14 games is a long season.wall-e hat geschrieben:That would seem to favor HSM in matchups since the current "favorites" (BB, FB and BW) would all be in the same division and would have 4 of their 10 games against each other. This is why PLAYOFFS are the answer if you are going to have two groups and not play everyone in the league with the same amount of games.jdl33 hat geschrieben:I'm guessing the groups will be:
Group A:
Aalen Limes Praetorians
Bad Mergentheim Wolfpack
Heilbronn Salt Miners
Ostalb Highlanders
Group B:
Backnang Wolverines
Böblingen Bears
Fellbach Warriors
Pforzheim Panthers
Verbandsliga Ba-Wü Meister '10?

Too bad the 15 team format didnt stick...now there isnt a playoff and again the "best" team will be the last team standing.jdl33 hat geschrieben:Just guessing based on geography, never sure how the association will break things down. The following makes more sense if you draw a line from north to south on a map with four teams on the left of the line and the other four on the right of the line

Great analogy, the PAC 10 sucks yet USC is rated high every year. I really think there should be a 1a vs 2b and 1b vs 2a playoff format anytime you have more than one division, 1’s host the playoff and either a neutral field for the championship or if that’s not possible, coin flip for home field.wall-e hat geschrieben:Yep, but thats another strong case for a playoff...you will have one group that is like the SEC (nearly every team could win it all) and the other group is the PAC 10 (typically only one clear favorite) lolParker hat geschrieben:dunno, but i like that second grouping. strong opponents
