It looks like Berlin is really serious about making a title run in 2009! Defense was not the question last season in Berlin. Shuan Fatah brings in great experience to turn the offense around, but I would HATE to be in his shoes if he fails to win a title next season. Kiel and Braunschweg will remain tough, but I look at Berlin as the pre-season favorite to win it all.
Things are pretty quiet in the South, I guess I expect more from a Division trying to make up some ground in the title chase. Can Marburg get over that hump and make it to a championship? Can the Scorpions get back to the German Bowl? Can the Cowboys improve on last season? Can Schwabisch Hall return to form next season and field a better team? Weinheim I've heard has some SERIOUS issues. Can the Black Hawks make any noise with their new roster moves? I keep hearing from my Plattling Source that great news is on the horizon with more roster moves, but it is all hearsay until I see it in writing, but if all goes down that I am told, Plattling may be a GFL2 South All Star Team before long. Hazel is the BOMB, Blakely returns, and a new big guy in the middle, who knows, maybe they eclipse Munich's first year success from last season?? Maybe not, but I do not think they will be dominated like everyone else predicts. They finished in 3rd place their first season in the GFL2, 3rd place in the South would have to be measured as success for a GFL1 newcomer, right? What Munich accomplished last season was simply amazing! Then again, the best coach in the GFL1, John Rosenburg, is not walking the Plattling sidelines every week either.
