Fearless pick (which obviously don't mean anything because of my regular season record
)
Offense:
Advantage Plattling: They scored an average of 43 points a game verses Wiesbaden, and 33 points a game verses Franken, 2 of the top Defenses in the 2nd League. I feel comfortable in making a comparrison between these 2 teams and the lower 3 teams in the South, Darmstadt, SH and Weinheim. I agree, DD played against better talent all season, but did not produce the same results. They have lost a lot of playmakers. With Darius Outlaw on the field, there is always a threat to score, but the playmakers around him just aren't that good.
Defense:
Advantage Darmstadt: This was a tough one to call, but I give it to Darmstadt because they have the more seasoned defense of the 2 teams. They have played a GFL1 schedule the last 3 seasons, and have faced offenses as talented as Plattling's. They will not be in awe when Plattling steps on the field. A key for the DD is who plays this weekend. If Brickus is there, the secondary is MUCH improved, no Brickus, the Diamonds have some SERIOUS issues. For the Hawks, they are a solid defensive team and probably have the better match-ups, but this is their first true test verses a GFL1 OL (I don't count Munich Pre-season, it was pre-season). If this team is able to stop the Diamonds the first drive and gain confidence early, it may be a shut out. If they remain in awe of Outlaw (best QB they will face all season), and get pushed around up front by the big guys, it could be a high scoring shootout.
Special Teams:
Advantage Plattling. Two words - Toure Butler! No offense to the human highlight reel Buzz, but the most dominant returner in the GFL2, possibly Germany is Toure Butler. Farghali has proven to be money at short distance, and Eichinger gives Plattling a big leg for distance. Darmstadt's special teams are PATHETIC!
Intangibles:
Advantage Plattling. They are riding high after 12 wins in a 14 game season, and come in with much to prove. Darmstadt on the other hand has lost 11 in a row and are an organization on the decline. Coach Lenhardt has some work to do this week on getting his team prepared, and better hire some security guards to ensure his practices are not being taped, Darmstadt is not too far from Darmstadt you know (HAHAHAHA, just a joke Plattling, don't take away my key to the city!) Darmstadt has the experience of playing in the GFL1, but it has not been competitive the 3 years it has played.

Hell nein...
Werdet realistisch...
