Bob Van der Meij was as close to a TE as Plattling had last season. If there is one place Plattling is not hurting though, it is a TE position. They have waves and waves of WR that can stretch a Defense every which way but loose, and the best QB in the GFL1. Add to that the pick up of Dominique Kandolo and Plattling will be among the league leaders in scoring this season. Yep sports fans, you heard it here first, Plattling will average 30+ ppg next season.

The question in Plattling is Defense, always has been, probably always will be. Plattling did more last season on Defense with nothing. Eichinger (FS) and Schmidt (FS) played OLB for the Black Hawks. Their DL averaged maybe 105kg. They had 2 young talented rookie LB's in the middle. Toure Butler led the team in tackles also playing LB, yet they still had the #1 scoring Defense in the GFL2 North and South. However, they gave up 30+ ppg to a very bad GFL1 Darmstadt Defense that was at the bottom of the league in all offensive categories last season. Have they / will they add enough playmakers to go with their explosive offense? Only time will tell. So far additions according to press releases and homepage:

Reed - CB, still one of the best in Germany, great addition
Pappilon? - DB, know nothing about him, played 15 years Regionalliga
Tost - was NASTY as a LB / DL while playing in Kirchdorf, team leader in all Defensive stats last season for Straubing
Speek? - LB, know nothing about him, 15 years Regionalliga
Durch? - LB, know nothing about him, 15 years Regionalliga
DL - Stephens is the big addition here, can be a game changer if he comes in shape, great addition.
Tertytschnyi - DE, 85KG, GFL1? know nothing about him, young player from Straubing
Wenkow - DL, know nothing about him, young player from Straubing

Losses
Toure Butler - Team leader in tackles, outstanding return specialist loss will hurt!

What gives Rocker / Data - what else is going on in Plattling?

Lars Speek und Kay Plaschke sind meines Wissens nach aus Starnberg.
Die 15 Jahre Regionalliga können aber nicht ganz stimmen, Speek ist etwa Jahrgang '79-'80, Plaschke sollte etwa '86-'87 sein.

85 kg als DE ? Mit Speed kann man in den unteren Ligen einiges wett machen aber GFL ist das vorbei.

Hey guard - it is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the heart of the dog in the fight. You never know, this kid may be special. Then again, he may have been good in the aufbauliga and no impact in the GFL. I have to think that the coaches in the GFL1 Black Hawks know what they are doing. Who knows, maybe he becomes an OLB?

Mag sein, trotzdem ein kurzer Kampf.

Ich will ja nciht abstreiten das der JUnge mal ganz gut wird - aber vorerst essen, essen und essen.

soso, ohne mampf kein kampf... da gehört wohl ein wenig mehr dazu als nur rund um sich zu zu fressen. wenn der nur 85 kg wiegt, hat der als d-liner vielleicht wohl auch noch nie ein studio von innen gesehen... ich glaube, ich war das letzte mal mit 18 unter 100 kg...

@batman: das liegt aber nur daran, dass du als bundi den ganzen tag pumpen kannst und danach schön chillen, da ihr da sowieso nichts zu tun habt...........

ja nee, is klar.
nur, dass ich damals noch nicht dem "verein" beitreten war. das kam erst später. von wegen nix zu tun... gut, dass du weisst, wer ich bin. ich denke, ich weiß auch, wer du bist. viel spass in kiel. hab noch keine ahnung, für wen ich auflaufen soll. auf jeden fall nicht mehr für den alten verein, so wie es aussieht. bin ja leider kein vertreter der "skill positions", auch wenn ich immer auf meine chance als QB gewartet hab ... mal sehen., was sich so ergibt...

ach ja.... chillen ist für mich sowieso nix!!! (insider)
