I am not a member of the Black Hawks, but I have a credible source with the team that has told me Plattling's Plan B is coming along quite nice. Justin Ingram is making much progress in his training and will bring a different dimension to the team. At the Plattling assessments this last weekend, he was a legitimate 4.6 - 4.7 40 guy. I was told that you can expect to see a different wrinkle with the offense and more emphasis placed on the Defense.
I have also heard that Hazel may not be completely out of the question for the first 3-4 games. College Football's dead season is in May, and Menlo ends its spring practice in April. I've heard Adam had already purchased a ticket to come and will be here the first week of May through early to mid-June giving Ingram more time to develop, and the team more time to develop its two-back stuff. In 09, you will see more 2 back sets, I-slot type formations, Pro sets. It makes sense to surround a young QB with lots of talent and take the pressure off of him by playing a more run oriented offense. I saw Ingram play at Bitburg and Ansbach in High School, and he passed for more than 300 yards verses the #1 Defense in Germany. This kid has a cannon, he just lacks the repitions a college QB has seen. He ran the Spread in High School, and the Spread in Plattling's Junior team. The kid has some skills!
With the extra money they saved from Hazel, they are going after a Stud E to play as a LB or SS and another OL.
Plattling may not win the South this season, but come on guys, did you ever expect that they were REALLY going to win it all? Halfpint and Sammy gave a realistic idea of their goals, they still can win 4-5 games, maybe 3-4 early on with Hazel at QB and make the playoffs.
